An Introduction to Next Step® Institute:
A New Approach to Healing

Next Step® Institute is a non-profit team of physicians, clinicians and therapists dedicated to helping individuals and families achieve optimal wellness of the mind, body, and spirit. We explore a wide range of therapies to improve health and quality of life through Integrative Medicine—a results-oriented approach which incorporates the very best of modern Western medicine along with Eastern, Native American and other alternative healing practices.

Located in the world class resort destination of Vail, Colorado, our cornerstone Wellness Week programs nurture patients with daily healing therapies, physician consultations, healthy gourmet meals, comfortable accommodation and recreational activities, with the support of a small group of others facing similar health challenges. If you’re suffering with chronic physical or emotional challenges and your needs are not being met by the traditional medical system, you’re ready for the Next Step® in healthcare.

2009 Wellness Weeks Announced

Next Step® Institute Wellness Weeks are six-day medical retreats dedicated to patients sharing specific conditions. During these cornerstone Wellness Week programs, patients are nurtured with daily healing therapies, physician consultations, healthy gourmet meals, and recreational activities. For 2009, we have narrowed our focus to helping patients and families who are living with MS and cancer. Enrollment for our 2009 Wellness Weeks is now open. New Cancer Program - "Surviving Cancer as a Young Adult"
Dedicated to the 70,000 young adults diagnosed with cancer every year, Next Step® Institute is proud to announce a new Wellness Week offering: "Surviving Cancer as a Young Adult." In recent years, survivorship statistics have shown improvement for every cancer population except young adults, which has remained stagnant since 1975. It is our aim to help young adults move beyond this disease and embrace their formative years and early adulthood with passion, vitality, and wellness. Program schedules are available on our website at http://www.nextstepinstitute.org/our_programs/schedule_programs.cfm

New MRI Clinic Opening December 15, 2008
The Vail Valley's newest, most affordable option for magnetic digital resonance imaging is scheduled to open this month, on December 15th. Next Step® medical director Dr. Gary Weiss, is opening the center to offer patients an alternative to current cost-prohibitive options, so they can get the scans they need to manage their health. Not only will the new clinic will be significantly less expensive than area alternatives, but it will also be open 7 days a week and accept insurances and workman's comp, as well as offer financial payment plans. The new MRI will feature an "open air" design (see photo) to ensure the comfort and care of claustrophobic patients.

Reaching Out to MS Patients
Next Step® Institute is always trying to improve quality of life for individuals and families facing health challenges. On December 6th, we will be participating in a seminar presented by the Rocky Mountain MS Center and National MS Society Colorado Chapter entitled "Gadgets, Gizmos & Strategies: Making Life Easier with MS." Please join us to learn more about how the best of modern, western medicine can be integrated with holistic and complementary therapies to help MS patients move forward.
